The primary objective of the High School Billiards Club was created to generate interest among students in fields of science, history, physics, and computer science. To accomplish this task, the team will meet regularly to train and compete in the game of billiards. The secondary objective is to train, educate, and evaluate potential students for the High School Billiards Team.
Termination of membership:
If the students from the Billiard Club are qualified and chosen for the Billiard Team they will need to have a competition shirt. These polo type shirts with team colors and logos will be provided. Team fees are an additional $75. in addition to the High School Club fee of $25. Total team fee if a player has not yet joined the club is $100. Some schools may wish to have fundraisers to help pay for those selected students. ****Make Checks payable to- B.E.T.T.E.R. Play BilliardsTM.
All members will be expected to attend every meeting, practice, and tournament, unless you have a valid excuse. Club Members must notify an elected team officer or their Club Sponsor if they will be late or absent to any Club functions.
You should arrive on or before practice start time. Arriving late could mean that you will miss valuable instruction or miss being placed on any team rosters to play a scheduled match. Once you arrive, please find your sponsor to sign in. You will sign in and pay your $5 at this point. If you cannot pay, please make arrangements with sponsor. You must make up all payments the following week or you will not play. If you cannot make practice, or are late in arriving, please try contacting your sponsor, or your officers to let them know.
Leaving the Practice Competition Area:
Leaving the practice area is not allowed unless it is cleared by the teacher/sponsor or the instructor. If you wish to leave to buy food at the snack bar or to go to the restroom, please tell your sponsor or instructor where you are going. If you leave the competition area without notification and your name is called for a match, you will have 5 minutes to return before disqualification. Leaving to go outside to your car during practice or competition will not be permitted!
Your coach must authorize your departure from practice or competition and you must sign out. If you know ahead of time that you have to leave early, please tell your sponsor they may need to arrange things for you. Practice and competitions will try to end at 8:30 p.m. Once the games are finished the last person at the table will be asked to tray the balls.
Since you are representing your High School in public places, behavior is of utmost importance. There will be NO gambling, smoking, or drinking of alcohol, before, during, or after practice, this will result in the immediate dismissal from the team. There will be NO foul language used while in practice or while in competition. There will be NO fighting or poor sportsmanship allowed. This type of behavior will result in the immediate dismissal from the club & team.
If you make the competition Billiard Team, the uniform that you must wear at competitions will consist of your High School Billiard Team polo shirt, khakis, or black pants, and tie shoes (no flip flops). While at practice team members must follow the dress and grooming code of your High School. This especially means no hats, no earrings (in males), and no inappropriate tops.
The Club will elect four officers, a president, a secretary, a media liaison/photographer and a treasurer. If you are interested in any of these positions, please talk to your sponsor for application materials.
The Billiard Club and Team member and/or parents of the team member will provide transportation to and from practice and tournaments. Please coordinate transportation so that you may carpool with other students.
